Teaching Strategies
This module covers practical teaching strategies for designing learning experiences that engage all students, regardless of learning style, classroom context, or subject area. You will begin by examining Direct Instruction, a teacher-centered approach that focuses on clear explanations, modeling, and guided practice. You will then explore Cooperative Learning, where students work together in small groups to achieve shared goals, and Experiential Learning, which emphasizes learning through real-life, hands-on experiences. This module will also introduce other essential strategies, including: Inquiry-Based Learning – encouraging students to ask questions, investigate problems, and build knowledge through curiosity. Differentiated Instruction – tailoring lessons to meet the diverse abilities, interests, and needs of learners. Project-Based Learning (PBL) – allowing students to explore real-world challenges through extended projects. Blended Learning – combining face-to-face teaching with online tools and resources to enhance flexibility. Reflective Teaching – helping learners (and teachers) develop awareness of their own learning and teaching practices. Gamified Learning – using elements of play, rewards, and competition to motivate engagement and participation.
